2019 Lifestyle High School Student Bible Retreat
Sponsored by the Florida Conference of Seventh-day Adventists Youth & Young Adult DepartmentOctober 11 – October 14, 2019
The High School Bible Retreat is a bi-annual retreat for all teens (both in public high school and our academies).
Hundreds of teens attend to be together and have joint worships, small groups, solo time, group games, the amazing race, and other very cool activities.

Willy Ramos
The Ghetto Preacher
Willy is an international evangelist, cartoonist, comedian, and author who has been preaching the Gospel for nearly 20 years & is still in demand at youth events worldwide. He shares his life’s TESTimony through sermons, ghetto-style poetry, & a touch of humor. The youth labeled him “The Ghetto Preacher” because he keeps it real & has never forgot where he came from.
Nicole Stallings
Young Adult Ministries
Nicole Stallings has served as the Administrative Assistant for the Youth/ Young Adult Department for the Carolina Conference since 2016. She is passionate about youth ministries and sharing how the love of God transformed her life. Apart from working at the conference, she is involved in young adult ministries for her local church and loves food, writing, and traveling.
Justin Khoe
That Christian Vlogger
Justin Khoe is a digital missionary, married to the love of his life, an avid weightlifter and producer of That Christian Vlogger — A weekly YouTube show.
My goal is to create a space on YouTube where people from around the world can come together, be inspired, and fall more in love with Jesus. I travel the world, sharing my experiences of “faith in the first person.”
Emily Khoe
Occupational Therapist
Emily lives in the beautiful Pacific Northwest in Vancouver, Washington with her husband Justin. On some of her off time, Emily and Justin discuss Bible based and Christian dating topics on his YouTube channel That Christian Vlogger. Emily is also an Occupational Therapist and enjoys working with kids with special needs in the public school setting. Emily enjoys spending time with family and friends, taking her Shiba Inu for walks, and trying some of the vegan cuisine Portland has to offer.
Markis Zarate
Worship Leader/Singer-Songwriter
Markis Zarate is a worship leader/singer-songwriter from the Orlando area. He ministers at various churches and leads worship at events around the nation. Music and art has been embedded in his life since his grade school years but didn’t become real til 2012. In 2012, at the age of 16, Markis was diagnosed with testicular cancer. In the following months he lost both of his grandparents and shortly after was diagnosed with a collapsed lung causing him to cancel his first summer tour. It was through this season that he developed a redefined heart for worship. Today he seeks to not only have people experience the presence of God but to encounter it. In addition, Markis is passionate about the creative arts and the development of young leaders within the church.

Chaperones / Sponsors
Each church/school is allowed One FREE sponsor/chaperone for every 9 students in each gender. For example, if you have 5 males and 2 females registered, you can bring one male chaperone/sponsor and one female chaperone/sponsor that doesn’t have to pay. Another example, if you bring 39 students with 14 females and 25 males, then you are allowed to bring 2 FREE female chaperones/sponsors and 3 FREE male sponsors/chaperones.
Background Checks
All Chaperones and Church Leaders must be Verified Volunteers Certified
Every person over 18 years of age has to do an Adventist Child Protection Screening. Once a church registers their students and sponsors, information will be sent to your sponsors/chaperones and students over 18 to do a background check.
We must have background checks for all volunteers and students above 18 turned into our office by October 9 which means we need your background checks to be done by September 30 in order for us to have all your information in on time. Thanks for helping us keep our young people safe.
